Fun Fall Family Photos with Silly Faces and Tree Swing

Fall is here, and there’s no better time to get outside and capture some fun family memories!

This family session was full of laughter, playful moments, and the kind of memories that make family photos so special. The kids had a blast exploring the property, taking turns posing on the tree swing, and showing off their silliest faces!

And you know what? Those silly faces were some of the most important photos of the day! Mom and Dad wanted to capture those goofy expressions to look back on years from now. Because while we all love a beautiful family portrait, sometimes it’s the funny, silly, completely unplanned moments that become our favorite memories.

Beautiful Fall Photo Locations

We took advantage of several beautiful spots around my photography studio in Troy, Missouri, to create a wonderful variety of family portraits.

The Tree Swing – The kids took turns posing on the swing, creating sweet individual portraits and playful moments full of personality.

By the Lake – The peaceful lake provided a beautiful backdrop for timeless family portraits.

The White Sycamore Tree – This gorgeous tree offered a natural setting for classic portraits with a touch of rustic charm.

The Flower Path – We captured more family memories along my flower path, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.

The Red Canna Flowers – The vibrant red flowers added a gorgeous pop of color to the session and made a striking backdrop for some cute sister photos.

With so many beautiful locations in one place, we were able to create a variety of images without ever having to leave the property!

Why Fall Is the Perfect Time for Family Photos

Fall is one of my favorite times of year for outdoor portraits. The comfortable weather, beautiful scenery, and gorgeous natural colors make it an ideal season for family photography.

And it’s not just families who should take advantage of this beautiful season! Fall is also a fantastic time for senior portraits. Whether you want a classic portrait, a country-inspired look, or something fun and full of personality, the outdoor areas around my studio offer plenty of possibilities.
