Family Photography Among the Sunflowers in Troy, Missouri
There’s something so special about capturing a family and this photo session was full of sweet moments, beautiful scenery, and a little bit of a doggie adventure!
I recently photographed a beautiful family session with a 2½-year-old little girl, her mom, and their dog. We spent the afternoon exploring the outdoor areas around my photography studio, taking advantage of the gorgeous summer scenery.
Sunflowers, Oak Tree & Lots of Love
The sunflower field was the perfect backdrop for this family. The bright flowers, warm summer light, and the joy of a curious 2½-year-old made for some incredibly sweet photographs.
We also took advantage of the beautiful white oak tree in the field behind my studio. Big old trees make such a timeless backdrop for family portraits, and I love how they add a little bit of magic and texture to outdoor photos.
Of course, we couldn’t leave out the family’s four-legged family member! Including your dog in your family session is always encouraged. After all, they are part of the family too!
A Little Lake Adventure
One of my favorite parts of this session was heading down to the lake.
While their dog enjoyed a swim in the water, Mom and her daughter watched from the boat. These are the kinds of photographs I especially love. The images that that capture a real moment and tell a little story about your family.
Sometimes the best family photographs happen when everyone is simply enjoying being together.
