La Jolla Cliffs
We saw dozens of seals laying on the cliffs of La Jolla in California. One harbor seal was having trouble jumping up on the cliffs since harbor seals don’t have a rotating pelvic girdle like sea lions. The three sleeping seals below remind me of my kitties napping together.
I loved the peaceful sound of the waves crashing against the La Jolla cliffs and the fishy smell made the experience feel very authentic. I could have spent hours here photographing the seals and beautiful cliffs, but since trying to fit lots of California tourist attractions in a short amount of time we only stayed for about a hour before heading to the San Diego Zoo and then the Japanese Friendship Garden.
There was lots of beautiful tiny flowers growing along the cliffs adding touches of yellow, white, and purple to the photographic coastal scenery. There were lots of surfers getting into there wet suits ready to brave the waves.
It’s different photographing cliffs instead of the more flat coastlines of Florida. San Diego has 70 miles of beautiful beaches and I wish we had more time to visit them all.
