Botanic Building
When we visited the Botanic Garden it was sprinkling outside.  The building is a large wood lath structure, so half of the rain drops were still dripping through the slats in the building, but at least half of the rain was blocked. It was built for the 1915-1916 Panama-California Exposition and it remains one of the largest lath structures in the world.
The Botanic Building featured lots of beautiful orchids in bloom when we visited in March.
 In front of the Botanic Building a man was creating giant bubbles in the rain which was really cool to watch and photograph. Â
There was even a cute squirrel that greeted us outside the front of the Botanic Building.
The Botanic Building is located in Balboa Park, California which is filled with lots of great places to visit such as the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Museum of Man, Museum of Man, Japanese Friendship Garden, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, and lots more.
