Hummingbird Desert Cactus Paint Party with Creativity and Friends
There is something special about gathering with friends, picking up a paintbrush, and watching a blank canvas turn into something beautiful.
This colorful Hummingbird Desert Cactus painting started as a private paint party with friends who requested a cactus theme. I loved the idea, but I wanted to add a little extra personality, so I painted a bright hummingbird hovering over the desert flowers against a glowing sunset sky.
The inspiration couldn’t have come at a better time.
A few weeks ago I put up a hummingbird feeder outside my studio and have been enjoying visits from two pairs of hummingbirds every day. Even more surprising, a pair of woodpeckers discovered the feeder and decided they enjoy the sweet sugar water too! My feeder sits beside gorgeous orange flowers that I picked up at the St. Alphonsus fundraiser.
Those daily moments inspired this painting, and after seeing how much fun everyone had at our private party, I knew I had to add it to my public paint party schedule.
I love creating paintings that are easy enough for beginners while still giving everyone the chance to add their own personality and style. No two paintings ever look exactly alike, and that’s part of the fun. Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t painted since elementary school, you’ll leave with a piece of artwork you can proudly hang in your home.
