Create Weekly: Week 8 – A Medieval Adventure at the Lady Lake Renaissance Festival

This week’s Create Weekly took me back in time to the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Festival in Tavares, FL! To kick off the adventure, I photographed my book, Being Visual in Your Business, in front of a dragon statue as a tribute to my cat named Dragon. The festival was a feast for the senses, with bold colors, unique textures, and some unforgettable sights.

A Festival of Unique Moments

I captured so many amazing scenes, like a service dog enjoying the day with two fairies, adding a touch of magic to the moment. And the treats? Kettle corn popcorn (my favorite) and a warm broccoli cheddar bread bowl that hit the spot for lunch. They also offered turkey legs, boiled peanuts, funnel cakes, pickles, and lots more. Between the axe throwing competitions and a giant ring that promises good luck to anyone who gives it a rub, it was the perfect blend of excitement and whimsy!

Texture and Color Close-Ups

I also took some close-up shots to capture the vibrant textures and colors that filled every corner of the festival — here’s a small sample! These are always a great reminder of how photography brings little details to life, perfect for inspiring my next stock photo set.

The Lady of the Lakes Ren Fest was such a bright, colorful, and happy event. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend it!
