Create Weekly: Week 4 – Celebrating with Sunflowers and Macro Photography
For Week 4 of Create Weekly, I wanted to share something a little special. This week’s feature is all about a beautiful vase of flowers I received as a gift from Karen Gruber to celebrate the upcoming book launch party of my book Being Visual in Your Business.
Karen thoughtfully chose my favorite flower — sunflowers! — along with pink roses, and she even matched the colors to go with my book. How perfect is that? Instead of a traditional vase, I decided to place the flowers in a custom coffee mug I had created with an image of my book on it. Of course, I couldn’t resist photographing them alongside my book for this week’s #CreateWeekly project.
But I didn’t stop there! I took out my macro lens and got creative with close-up shots of the flowers. I even sprayed some water on them to capture the beauty of water droplets on the petals. There’s something about getting up close and personal with flowers that makes you appreciate all the intricate details.
Inspiration in the Details
When I have more time, I’d love to turn some of these macro shots into inspirational stock photos. They would be perfect for motivational quotes, social media posts, or even as visual art for businesses. Speaking of which, here’s a batch of sunflower-themed inspirational quote photos from a previous shoot that might brighten your day!
What’s Next?
I’m so grateful for the kind gesture from Karen, and these flowers have brought an extra dose of beauty and inspiration into my creative process. It’s amazing how something as simple as a bouquet can spark so many ideas. Who knew a coffee mug, some sunflowers, and a macro lens would be the perfect combo for creative exploration?
Let’s Collaborate: Showcase Your Products Weekly
I’ve been having so much fun featuring my book in new creative settings every week, and I’d love to offer this opportunity to other businesses as well! Imagine your products photographed in unique, eye-catching scenes — whether it’s for a seasonal vibe, lifestyle setup, with pets, in nature or something completely custom. Each week, I’ll create a product photo, just like I’ve been doing with my book. I would love to fill up my new tote bag with a variety of products to carry around and photograph in unique locations.
If you’d like your products to be part of this exciting project, contact me for details! I’d love to collaborate and help showcase your products in a way that brings them to life.
