Create Weekly 2 – A Photo Studio Adventure with Dragon & Winter
Welcome to Week 2 of Create Weekly! This week, what started as a simple one-photo session of my book Being Visual in Your Business turned into a full-blown cat party in the studio, starring none other than Dragon and Winter.
In my book, I talk about the importance of patience when photographing cats. Let’s be real: working with cats means following their schedule. I set out to photograph Dragon first, and she gave me some great poses (after a few treat negotiations, of course). Just as I was about to turn off my studio lights, thinking we were done, Dragon kept striking even better poses! It’s like she was trying to show me who’s boss.
But wait — just as I thought I had the perfect shot, Winter decided it was his time to shine. I ended up taking 40 photos instead of the one I had planned for this week’s #CreateWeekly post. A simple session turned into a mini-series featuring Dragon and Winter in front of a purple studio backdrop.
Lesson of the Day: Always Be Ready When Photographing Cats!
Photographing cats is all about timing and patience. You have to be prepared for anything — even when you think the session’s over, they might surprise you with a pose you didn’t expect. This week’s #CreateWeekly project reminded me that sometimes the best shots come when you least expect them.
Don’t Forget to RSVP for My Book Launch Party!
Before I wrap up this week’s post, don’t forget to RSVP for my Being Visual in Your Business book launch party on October 11th! It’s going to be a fun celebration of creativity and visual storytelling.
This week’s project reminded me that, even though I only needed one photo, I ended up with a whole collection of 40 photos. Sometimes creativity just flows — especially when cats are involved!
