Create Weekly 1: Dragon Takes the Spotlight with My New Book

Welcome to the first edition of Create Weekly! I’m thrilled to share this new creative adventure with you, where I’ll be capturing a photo of my book, Being Visual in Your Business, every single week in a variety of fun settings. To kick things off, I’ve enlisted my trusty feline assistant, Dragon, for this week’s debut photo. There may been treats involved… because let’s be honest, cats are the real bosses around here. 🐾

In this week’s shot, you’ll see Dragon sitting beside Being Visual in Your Business. I’ve also included the companion action journal, bookmarks, and business cards I designed to go along with the book in the scene. I photographed her on my grass background since I was trying to photograph dog tennis balls on the background for a client and she kept photo bombing, so I decided to take so photos of her with my book first to give her some attention and treats.

Each week, I’ll be taking my book on all sorts of adventures, and you’ll get to see it in a variety of settings. Whether it’s posing with my cats in the studio (because, let’s face it, they’re going to insist on being in the spotlight) or outdoors in nature, the goal is to show how versatile and visual storytelling can be!

Here’s what’s coming up in Create Weekly:

In the studio, with quirky props, plenty of cat cameos (because they always want to photobomb), and other creative backdrops.
Out in nature, perhaps perched on a park bench, lying on a beach towel by the ocean, or even hanging out in a flower garden (but don’t worry, Dragon will stay home — sand is a bit too beneath her).
At events, where I’ll photograph my book next to some stylish dog models. Yes, you heard that right — dogs. My cats are still trying to process this betrayal.

Why Should My Book Have All the Fun? Let’s Feature Your Products Too!

This project is about more than just my book, though. I’d love to extend the fun and creativity to your products as well! Imagine a weekly photo shoot where your items are front and center — photographed in dynamic, engaging settings that really tell your brand’s story.

I’ve got big plans for this! I want to bring a tote bag filled with a variety of products from different companies and photograph them in a variety scenes each week. Whether it’s on studio backgrounds with props, cozy home interiors, or outdoor nature scenes, I’ll make sure your products look fabulous (and perhaps my cats will offer their purr-sonal approval if it’s a cat product).
